R+ (M) Tool: Designed for medium 4-8,” tissue strokes. Examples of medium anatomical targets are the upper arm, neck, superficial back muscles, and leg muscles. The R+ (M) has a sharper “scanning” concave edge on top with is most sensitive for locating scar/fibrous tissue and fascial restrictions. Additionally the scanning edge is excellent for superficial fascial release and improving range of motion. On the bottom is a traditional convex IASTM edge for routine treatment. At the tip of the instrument is a rounded “prow” that is designed for deeper point release than a longer contact allows. R+ M Tool Weight: 9.5oz and Dimensions: L 9" x W 1-1/4" x D 1/4"
R+ (S) Tool: Designed for small 1-4,” tissue strokes. Examples of small anatomical targets would be thumb, wrist, forearm, hand muscles: foot & ankle muscles; deep neck and facial muscles; or, any larger muscle or joint capsule where you want focused treatment. For smaller, detailed IASTM application it becomes critically important to have an ergonomic tool with a secure grip, and there is no comparison when comparing the R+ (S) to “gua sha” shaped instruments for detailed soft tissue work. R+ S Tool Weight: 6.5oz and Dimensions: L 6-1/2" x W 1" x D 1/4"
R+ (L) Bar: Designed for long, over 8,” tissue strokes in the large muscles of the back, thigh, and leg (traps, erectors, glutes, hams, quads, calf). The R+ L gives you the benefit of a shorter accessory handle that stays out of the way when working around a client on the table (no handle bumping the table when working into medial or lateral areas on a supine patient). Also, in addition to the traditional long bar IASTM edge on the concavity, there is wider radius “wave” profile that locks in for deep penetrating tissue waves. In 20 years of clinical experience Dr. Matt and colleagues have found that the traditional IASTM edges on many bar tools are too sharp for working past superficial layers. The perfect solution was to keep the traditional sized edge on the concavity and designed a “softer” wider edge on top for the deeper layers. R+ L Bar Weight: 14oz and Dimensions: L 14" x W 1-1/8" x D 1/4".
Original Myo-Bar: Designed for deep/large muscles. Tools like foam rollers and other roller-type massage tools are very effective. Combining this geometry with the clinical benefits of stainless steel was also first by Myo-Bar over a decade ago. The “barrel” roller edge of the Original Myo-Bar allowed deeper, more focused tissue release than standard roller type massage tools. It is also easier to apply strokes (no wrist angling necessary) and less painful than sharper IASTM edges when exerting two handed pressure. R+ Original Bar Weight: 14oz and Dimensions: L 16" x D 1/2".
Trigger Point Tool: The most popular massage geometry of all time was given the first stainless steel “upgrade” by Dr. Matt/Myo-Bar in 2009. Not only was “thumb” fatigue eliminated, but detection of trigger points/fibrous tissues was made much easier vs. plastic massage tools. R+ TRP Tool Weight: 5.5oz and Dimensions: L 6" x D 1/2".

No Redundancy of Tools or Profiles. Myo-Bar profiles are original, individually handcrafted, and scaled to anatomy so that only one instrument is usually necessary for a given treatment area. Many competitor sets have redundant "shapes." Extra tools are a waste of money if they don't perform a unique application.
Improved Ergonomics. Myo-Bar incorporates balance points and grip features in every single product. Familiar Gua Sha and Graston profiles were terrible to grip, often slipping out of the hand or causing fatigue in the fingers.
Better Results with Superior Edge Finish. Each 304 solid stainless steel instrument is hand finished to perfection so that each edge has a micro-radius and transitions between profile features are smooth. This prevents abrasion and injury to the skin and assures maximum comfort and superior clinical results.
Clinical Support. Dr. Matthew Hajzl, designer of all the Myo-Bar profiles and soft tissue practitioner for 20 years offers a Technique Primer and is available by email or phone when you need guidance with your treatment for any reason.
Free Extras. FDA approved sanitary tray/tool organizer + 40 page PDF Technique Primer. All sets of two or more tools include Cordura® zipper case with embroidered logo. Myofascial oil & cleaner samples for domestic orders.
The Red HandlesYour hand squeezes a comfortable and familiar sized handle. Each tool is equipped with a non-slip grip, so you don't have to worry about gripping the sharp edge of an odd shape, which is a common problem of many IASTM and Gua Sha tools.
Balance Point/Finger RestThe balance point acts as a pivot point for better leverage, consistency, and control. Whether you are using the top or bottom edge, this feature will allow the index or middle finger to guide the tool comfortably with a secure hold.
Small and Larger Radii"Sharper" narrow edges are good for scanning, superficial tissue warming, & release. "Traditional" edges are good for most IASTM treatments. "Wide" edges are best for the deep layers of muscles, or sensitive muscles like the front of the neck.
Deep Fascia "Barrel Edge"Easy to maneuver for self-care along with added comfort for deep fascial release than traditional & scanning edges. Myo-Bar is the only IASTM tool brand that allows treatment beyond the superficial layers of the large muscles of the back & lower extremity.
Smooth Surface for CleaningEmollient stays on the treatment side of the instrument, so your hand and the red grip stays clean. After treatment, only a spritz with sanitizer and a wipe down with a paper towel is all that is needed to prepare the tools for the next use.
Better Two-Handed "L" BarsL Bars have a "Wave" profile on the top of the tool for deep & comfortable strokes. The bar also has a trimmed handle which stays out of the way when rotating into the adductors or when treating a patient's medial/lateral muscle groups on a table.
Each Tool has a PurposeWe made sure our profiles don't repeat. Each instrument has a convexity/concavity that scales with anatomy. "L" is bigger than "M" which is bigger than "S." You will always have the perfect sized tool for the target anatomy you are treating.
